Hi there! I’m Lily — an Amsterdam-based freelance writer, photographer & creative director. As a curious traveler, I love exploring the world through the intersection of culture and creativity.
Inspired by the rhythm of nature, I follow a slower pace, taking time to observe, interact, and appreciate the sights, sounds, and scenery of new surroundings — often through the lens of my camera.
Raised by artists, I grew up in Florida and traveled the globe with my family. This unique upbringing formed my respect and appreciation for other cultures and led me to study anthropology.
In 2009, I traded Florida's swamps for a gap year along Amsterdam's canals. Following a huge leap of faith, I stayed Amsterdam on my own and completed a Master’s in Communications at the University of Amsterdam. In the meantime, I contributed to travel publications like iAmsterdam, Fodor’s Guidebooks, Lonely Planet, and more.
Over the years, I built a colorful, independent life abroad but I’ll be the first to admit that this journey has been filled with many unexpected and challenging adventures along the way.
I’ve found joy in defining my own path and I hope that my blog inspires you to do the same!
